Higher Education on the Move: New Developments in Global Mobility This report, the second in a series of Global Education Research Reports sponsored by the AIFS Foundation and the Institute of International Education (IIE), explores the effects of recent developments in higher education, the world economy, and government policy on global student and scholar mobility. Authors ask how these processes affect the most commonly discussed aspect of international education — the movement of students and scholars across national borders.
Project Atlas and African Network for Internationalization of Education (ANIE) Workshop, 2009
Project Atlas/ANIE (African Network for Internationalization of Education) coordinated and held a capacity-building workshop on best practices in collecting student mobility data. The workshop was held on Sep. 1-2, 2010 at Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya.

WASHINGTON, DC, NEW YORK, NY and DUBLIN, Ireland, Jan. 18, 2010—In an ambitious campaign to boost collaboration between Irish and US institutes of higher learning, representatives from seven Irish Universities will converge in New York and Washington this week to launch “The Irish Universities: Connecting Continents” initiative.
The campaign kicks off with two “Irish University Showcase” events: one in Washington, hosted by Ireland’s Ambassador to the United States (US), HE Michael Collins, and the second in New York hosted by Consul General, HE Niall Burgess.It builds on the long-standing interest of US academics and students in Irish history, culture and literature, and aims to broaden the network of research partnerships shared by institutions of higher learning in both countries.It is also designed to draw new waves of US students to Ireland for undergraduate and graduate studies.
